Ann is a founder member of Community House.
In 1994 a group of representatives of voluntary organisations were looking for a building to house a number of organisations under one roof.
Ann was involved in a fundraising drive to acquire the building which became Harrogate Community House Trust, putting in a successful bid to the National Lottery.
At the time she was Director of Harrogate and Area Council for Voluntary Service, so has expertise and knowledge of setting up a range of voluntary organisations, some of which are now based in Community House.
Dan Brumfitt is a Chartered Surveyor and Head of the Commercial and Survey department for Feather Smailes Scales, a well known local firm of Property Consultants. Dan is a keen participator of all business’ activities in the Harrogate area and proud to be a trustee of Harrogate Community House.
Outside work, Dan’s hobbies include dog walking, shooting, fishing, golf and spending time with his family.
Gaynor joined Harrogate Community House Trust as a Trustee in 2007.
Gaynor is a qualified Chartered Accountant and experienced in Sage, the software used for our accounts. She balances the books and prepares monthly management accounts along with the final accounts for the examiner.
John has lived in the Harrogate Area for 25 years and has been a Trustee/Director of Harrogate Community House Trust since 2005. He is a practising solicitor and is a Board member of one other charity.
Michael Crosby spent all his working life in education, ending it as head of Ashville College, Harrogate (1987-2003).
He was a magistrate for twenty years on the Harrogate and Skipton bench as well as being a member of the Independent Monitoring Board (and its chair for three years) at Wetherby Young Offenders Institution for twelve years.
Michael has been a trustee of Community House for six years. He has also been a governor of three independent schools since 2000.
Patrick is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He retired in 2009 following 21 years at Leeds City Council working in urban regeneration, development and asset & estate management. Patrick previously worked for large firms of surveyors, the District Valuer (Inland Revenue) and Local Authorities.
Patrick is a parish councillor in the village of Sicklinghall and has worked with the Sports and Leisure Committee of Bramham to obtain funding for a new sports pavilion.
Peter’s career was in education. He taught in Sheffield and Newcastle and was Headmaster of Ilkley Grammar School until 2002.
Since then he has served as a magistrate on the Harrogate Bench, recently completed a year as President of Harrogate Brigantes Rotary Club and is a volunteer guide at Fountains Abbey.
Trevor has been a Trustee/Director and the Company Secretary for Harrogate Community House Trust since 2005. As Secretary he is responsible for taking the minutes of the Directors’ quarterly meetings and the Annual General Meeting. Trevor prepares the Annual Report, and ensures that the Company complies with Companies House and Charity Commission rules and regulations.
Until Trevor retired some 10 years ago he was a property lawyer and worked in that profession in Harrogate for almost 30 years.
